Building a Motorhome - Day 1

This was the day that all of the waiting and prep work were leading to, the assembly of our motorhome.  Most of the first day is spent in the welding shop which is closed to customers.  The welding shop adds the metal framework that supports the floor and the basement storage area.  We were able to locate our chassis in the morning before it went into the welding shop.

All parts intended for our motorhome are marked with our sales order number.  In our case the order number is 102,148.

Our Cummins diesel engine.

The PowerGlide chassis uses a side mounted engine radiator.  This allows for much easier access to the engine for maintenance.

Our last view of our chassis in the queue for the welding shop.

A nice sunset at the Tiffin Service Center Campground.
