Everglades National Park - Part 3

On the morning of our third day in the Everglades, we headed to Paurotis Pond to photograph nesting birds in the morning light.

Everglades National Park - Part 2

This canal leading inland from the Flamingo Marina looked like a great place to kayak.

This Osprey nest was right next to all the activity at the marina.
The nearly fully grown chicks were hard to  distinguish from the adults.

We frequently saw American Crocodiles in the marina.

The southern tip of Florida is the only place where you find both American Alligators (freshwater) and American Crocodiles (salt water).

Near the campground was Eco Pond with a nice path to walk around it.

Everglades National Park - Part 1

From March 17th until March 20th we visited the southern end of Everglades National Park, staying in the Flamingo Campground.

I had seen several recommendations to visit the Anhinga Trail at the Royal Palm area near the eastern park entrance.  This turned out to be a fabulous place to see many of the animals found in the Everglades.
