Another drive into the Lamar Valley

Coming back toward camp we came upon a "bear jam" caused by this chocolate colored Black Bear.

"Swans and goose butts"

Yellowstone 2016 - Part 10

We stopped back by the Slough Creek area, but the only thing happening was scenery.

We often saw these small shrubs with white berries.

We spent some more time visiting other thermal features in the Mammoth Hot Springs area.

Yellowstone 2016 - Part 9

We spent some time exploring some of the thermal features near Mammoth Hot Springs.

Lots of elk tend to hang out in the village of Mammoth Hot Springs.  This bull was resting until late afternoon when he would round up his harem for some "adult elk activity".

A Bighorn ram along the road

A nice sunset to end the day

Yellowstone 2016 - Part 8

The next day we drove south from Mammoth Hot Springs.

There was nice fall color along this drive.

Near Sheepeater Cliffs

Swan Lake

Swans on the lake

A Bald Eagle high over the lake

On a cliff above the road we spotted this Mountain Goat.

Yellowstone 2016 - Part 7

Later the same day we saw the wolves in the Hayden valley, we drove through the Lamar Valley.

Fall color in the Lamar Valley

By Soda Butte, at the east end of the Lamar Valley, we found this coyote hunting.

Driving back towards camp, we spotted two Bighorn rams.

Later in the day, the Red Fox spotted in the morning was napping across the road and gave us a nice stretch and yawn.
