Bosque del Apache 2016 - Part 1

We returned to one of our favorite wildlife watching areas, Bosque del Apache NWR in central New Mexico.  Due to some farming issues, the grain crop that is grown for feeding the waterfowl was poor at the Bosque del Apache refuge and the birds were often feeding at the Bernardo Wildlife Refuge further north in the Rio Grande Valley.

We've always enjoyed the scenery around the refuge.

Cibola NWR

We were recently in Blythe, California to attend their annual bluegrass music festival.  Before and after the festival, we made a couple of drives down to the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge, south of Blythe along the Colorado River.  Below are a number of images from those drives.
