On our second full day camped at Manatee Hammock, we drove south to the well known wildlife area informally known as the Viera Wetlands, officially known as the Ritch Grissom Memorial Wetlands. These are a set of ponds maintained by a Brevard County wastewater treatment facility for the benefit of the wildlife.
