After leaving Homer, we spent a night in Anchorage, a night in Wasilla and then started driving east on the Glenn Highway. Along this road we got our first real indication of the imminent arrival of fall.
The fireweed leaves were becoming bright red.
We started seeing lots of the fireweed plant producing fluffy seed pods that look like a warning of impending snow!
