It is time to get caught up on this blog!
A couple more images of the newborn bison "red dogs".
While we were watching for activity near the distant wolf den across the valley from the Slough Creek Road, someone saw a coyote swim across the creek and head our way. This coyote then just sauntered past all the people and parked cars, crossed the road and disappeared on the other side.
We discovered that there was another Osprey nest along the Gardner River near the park's north entrance.
In past visits, we had often seen Bighorn Sheep in the cliffs along the
Gardner River, but had not seen any in many days of driving past. Finally,
we came upon a large group working their way down the cliffs.
The sheep did not seem to be particularly bothered by all the people watching from along the road as they grazed just above or even crossed to get to the river.
