In early January we spent a few days camped near Tombstone, Arizona. One of the days we spent exploring the Dragoon Mountains and re-visiting Bisbee, Arizona.
Driving towards the Dragoon Mountains
Approaching the western side of the Dragoons
After cresting the Dragoons, we could see the Chiricahua Mountains across the wide Sulphur Springs Valley.
On the east side of the Dragoon Mountains are a set of valleys know as the Cochise Stronghold where the Chiricahua Apache leader and his followers took refuge for about 15 years.
After leaving the Cochise Stronghold, we drove down to Bisbee for lunch and to continue some genealogy research. I can't remember another cemetery besides Bisbee's Evergreen Cemetery that has a mine headframe right next door.
