Kingdom of a Mouse

After visiting Everglades National Park we headed north in search of the mythical kingdom built by a four fingered mouse.  To split up the drive to the Orlando area, we spent a night at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park.

While leaving the state park, we came across a couple of unexpected sightings.

This Crested Caracara was repeatedly flying against the windows of this house.  We suspect it was chasing its own reflection.

Feeding near the same house was a pair of Sandhill Cranes with one very fuzzy chick.

One of our days in the area was spent visiting Epcot.

Epcot was the first place we found funnel cakes since we left home.

We spied this interesting treat on a menu board.  We asked a nearby visitor if we could take a picture of the one she was eating.  The report was that they were very tasty.
"Only in the South!"

The iconic Epcot Spaceship Earth is very pretty lit up at night.

We spent another day at Disney World Magic Kingdom.
Since it was in the middle of spring school breaks, the park was crowded!

A ride on Pirates of the Caribbean was a must.

Even at the Magic Kingdom we could not escape birdwatching.
(This Egret could probably see what was left on the tables.)

We really liked this "Steam Punk" mechanical dragon in the Festival of Fantasy Parade.

Our most fun during this visit was probably two trips on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride.

A video of most of one of our rides.
