Antarctic Adventure - Day 4

This was a day spent sailing towards the Falkland Islands across the South Atlantic Ocean.  The primary wildlife seen were the plentiful sea birds that tended to visit or follow the ship.

Since the ship has an open bridge policy, the bridge is a great place for bird watching.

Probably the most common sea bird seen was the Pintado Petrel (which is also known as the Cape Petrel).  These are very pretty birds with a boldly patterned top side and a nearly white bottom side.

Probably the second most common sea bird seen was the Giant Petrel.

We also saw an occasional Black-browed Albatross.  These birds have a wingspan around 7 feet.
